Pat Henneberry
Pat Henneberry is Vice President of Castle & Cooke California and currently responsible for the Bakersfield Housing Operations. Henneberry joined Castle & Cooke in November of 1992. Castle & Cooke, founded in Hawaii in 1851, is a privately held company owned by David H. Murdock, who serves as chairman and chief executive officer. Formerly listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Mr. Murdock took the company private in 2000 and merged it with his diverse group of companies and other investments. Castle & Cooke is primarily involved in real estate development and ownership, transportation equipment leasing, trucking, brick and building materials manufacturing and other investments. The company also owns two of the world’s highest-rated resorts and ninety-eight percent of the island of Lana‘i in Hawaii, making it the largest privately held island in America.
During his tenure at Castle & Cooke, Henneberry has managed several projects, including the construction of a 36-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf club in Morgan Hill, California, a 9-hole expansion of the Seven Oaks, Country Club in Bakersfield, California and other commercial projects. He is currently building an organization that will produce over 1,000 homes per year in two Central California regions.
Since the early 1990s, Henneberry has been the driving force in Castle & Cooke’s pursuit of increased energy-efficient and green housing. When they designed their first housing product that incorporated a mechanically-engineered HVAC system, it was unheard of at the time in production housing. They were also one of the first production builders to incorporate radiant-barrier roof sheeting technology as a standard feature. They were also the first production builder in their area to provide solar roofs as an available option to buyers. Castle & Cooke was named the first California Green Builder of the Year in 2004 under Henneberry’s direction.
Henneberry attended San Francisco State University where he received a BA in Psychology. He served the Home Builders Association of Kern County as president from 2002-2003 has been a director from 2001 to present.
